Naturopathic Medicine

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic doctors strive to determine the root cause of acute and chronic disease, while supporting the body’s innate ability to heal itself.

It can be used to help with a wide range of conditions including neck and back pain, headaches, sports injuries, sciatica, as well as things like golfer’s elbow and plantar fasciitis.

In addition to diet and lifestyle changes, Naturopathic Doctors use a variety of therapies including herbal medicine, nutrition, acupuncture. Therapies can be used in conjunction with conventional medical treatments. Treatment plans are developed based on your individual needs to optimize the results.

Naturopathic Doctors receive 4 years of post-graduate education and are regulated through the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia.

Many extended health insurance plans provide coverage for naturopathic medicine. Check with your insurance provider or employer to find out if you have coverage!
