Angie Krasnay, MScPT
Originally from "ski country" in Collingwood, Ontario, Angie followed the snow west in 2000 and has never looked back. After a few years living in Canmore and Calgary, Angie relocated to Fernie, and has been living, working and playing in and around the Elk Valley for 13 yrs. She holds a BSc (hon) in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario (1999), a Masters of Kinesiology (exercise physiology) from the University of Calgary (2004) and an MSc in Physiotherapy from McMaster University (2010). Since graduating from Physiotherapy, she has pursued many additional courses in manual therapy (completed level 3), soft tissue release, kinesio and athletic taping, as well as vestibular (vertigo/dizziness) and concussion rehabilitation, among others.
She has worked with several competitive teams including the Canadian Para-Alpine team, and Hockey Alberta, as well as with cyclists, triathletes, and runners. As a previously competitive alpine skier, mountain biker and runner herself, she has a keen interest in post-concussion syndrome and the connection with ongoing neck, visual and vestibular (balance issues), as well as rehabilitation of orthopaedic and sports injuries, and loves using exercise to take you from couch to competition.
Angie also offers baseline (pre-season) and post-concussion assessment/treatment, for teams or individuals, as well as fitness assessments and lactate threshold testing, if you are looking for that competitive edge. When she’s not in clinic, you can find her thoroughly enjoying the mountains by skis, bike or on foot, camping and juggling life at home with her husband 2 young kids.
